Mr Hester is a dual Fellowship trained Trauma and Orthopaedic surgeon, specialising in Foot & Ankle surgery, complex diabetic feet and complex trauma.
His NHS practice is at the world renowned Kings College Hospital London. This is one of only 4 Major Trauma Centres in the capital, accepting the most complex and emergency injuries by air and land ambulance.
As well as complex trauma work, treating bone injuries to any area of the body, Mr Hester is also a specialist foot and ankle consultant at Kings College Hospital. The foot and ankle department is a tertiary referral centre, accepting the most complex patient referrals from the surrounding hospitals.
He is also a part of the Internationally renowned Kings Diabetic Foot Centre, accepting referrals from all over the country.
Privately Mr Hester works in a number of central London private facilities seeing patients with general trauma related injuries and foot and ankle conditions. He also works alongside a specialist endocrine physician (also a part of the kings diabetic foot team) to provide expert, dedicated diabetic foot care in the private sector.
Mr Hester is a fellowship trained consultant. He graduated from St Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Medical School with a clinical distinction, and underwent specialist training in central London at hospitals including the Royal London hospital, Guys & St Thomas’ Hospital and Kings College Hospital.
He was awarded the Scales Prize for his research work at the prestigious Stanmore Royal Rational Orthopaedic Hospital and also has an MSC in Orthopaedic Science and diploma in medial leadership and management.
He is currently chair of AO Foot & Ankle UK and has an active role in the training of Doctors of all levels, including running the Kings College F&A Fellowship programme.
His international fellowships where at Calgary, Toronto and Guys and St Thomas' Hospital London.
